Course Expectations

Course Goal: Students will discover reading and writing as the keys to becoming life-long learners.

 

Course Objectives: The Common Core State standards will serve as the framework for lessons and activities.

 

Course Description: Students will receive assignments and grades based on these skills: reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, grammar and spelling.

 

Grading Scale: 93-100 = A; 85-92= B; 77-84= C; 70-76= C; Below 70 - Not Passing

 

Homework Assignments: Homework assignments will be posted on the school website:

www.waynecountyschools.org/386/site/default/asp

 

Student Responsibilities: Students will be expected to complete all class work and homework assignments, study for tests/quizzes, follow the posted Discipline Plan and choose behavior that benefits a positive learning environment.

 

Rules:              Be respectful to others.

                        Listen carefully to the teacher as well as other students.

                        Raise your hand to speak or to get up from your seat.

                        Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

                        Have ALL needed materials.

 

Consequences of not following these rules may result in silent lunch, parent call or conference call, or choice room (ISS).
